Small Bust

Planning: To plan for this I researched what the small bust assignment was. I then decided I wanted to have it fairly small. I didn't have to do much planning because it was pretty clear.

Description: First, I got my clay and wedged it. I then formed the head and the chest. I hollowed it out and formed it together. Next, I formed the nose and scored and slipped it on.

Reflection: I never finished this piece but I wish I had because it was coming out good and It could've been a piece I am proud of. I liked the assignment fir me it was a little challenging which was good to build my skills.

Mask

Planning: To plan for this project, I first reached up masks on Pinterest to know what my inspiration was. I found a piece like this with a flower and thought it was so pretty so I decided to do it. I changed the colors and things up a bit though.

Description: I started this by wedging my clay and then firing an almost bown shape. I then cut out the eyes and made then look very winged. Then I scored and slipped the nose on, and made the lips and put those on too. Then I carefully glazed it and the flower.

Reflection: I like this piece. Its a bit creepy looking, and it looks like she has lots of plastic surgery done and a nose job. Her nose did fall off, maybe it was because of her nose job but it was a bit sad. I just clear glazed it back on. I do think it's pretty though and I love the flower.

Current Artist/ useful piece

Planning: To plan I first found my artist and the album that it was inspired by, which was Taylor Swift and the album Red. I found something that looked like this and inspired my piece on it.

Description: To make this, first, I rolled out a slab. Then I got a cup and molded my slab around it and scored and slipped it in one piece. Then I made the heart shape and underglaze it. Then I fired it and clearglazed it.

Reflection: This is my artist piece but also my useful piece. I made this for my mom for mothers day and she is using it to store things in so it is being used very well. I also like this piece because when I was little, I LOVED Taylor Swift and this album so it was pretty special to me. I like this piece a lot its pretty and basic but I love it.

Colorful alebrije

Planning: I did a lot of planning for this. I found a bunch of ideas on Pinterest and before I did this, I tried three of them. None of them were working out and this was the first thing that did. I also planned out the colors and the designs of this.

Description: To make this, I first wedged my clay and then formed the body of the turtle. Then, i added the fins and hollowed it out. Then I underglazed all the small details and Fired it, then clear glazed it,

Reflection: I really like this piece, I thought it was fun and looked pretty good. I struggled because one of the fins fell off but luckily I got it back on, it just set me back a little. I am proud of this and all the small details because usually I'm not the best at all the little details and things.
